Background:
Pete Raymond is an
Abraham Lincoln look-a-like. This was discovered in 1976 during a
Lincoln Beard Contest in Wayne County, Ohio. Despite the encouragement
from others to portray Lincoln, it took nearly 25 years for the idea to
take hold. After studying for a full year and assembling his Lincoln-era
attire, his first presentation was made at Lincoln Days in Hodgenville,
Kentucky in the year 2000. He is recognizable as Lincoln in street
clothes and makes many contacts for performances in this manner.
Presenting Lincoln has taken him through the Eastern states educating
and entertaining his audiences. Question and answer sessions are very
popular. He continues to study and visit historical sites, being sure to
make each presentation factual as he brings Abraham Lincoln to life for
his audiences.
He has spoken in Elementary Schools and Church Services, at Corporate
and Church Conferences, Youth Group Lock~Ins, Reunions, Historical
Societies, Civil War Roundtables and Reenactments, Service
Organizations, Women's Clubs, Assisted Living & Retirement Groups,
Daughters of American Revolution, and Boy Scouts.
Raymond is a retired warehouse manager and now devotes full time to the
study and presentation of Abraham Lincoln. He is a life member of ALP
and he and Mrs. Raymond have attended
every convention since his induction into the organization.
Pete Raymond considers it an honor to present the life of the 16th
President of the United States.
